Partnership
Wear Your Label started as a simple idea: clothing to create conversations around mental health. In 2015, WYL was invited to New York Fashion Week and featured one of FLY Charms own team members Natalie Held. In 2016, WYL joined the National Alliance on Mental Illness as one of the first 7 #StigmaFree companies in North America. What does that mean? They are committed to building a more accepting culture that prioritizes mental health - in their workplace, and beyond. WYL has even gone as far to remove gender distinctive clothing sections from their website and you can read more about why here. 10% of WYL profits are donated to mental health initiatives and all of their products are made in Canada, the USA, and WRAP Certified manufacturing facilities abroad. That means fair, humane & ethical work standards. In terms of sustainability, WYL knows that the fashion industry is the 2nd worst industry for the environment, only next to oil. That’s why they have committed to reduce their impact by using water-based inks instead of plastisol and using recycled fabrics and upcycling vintage pieces. You can read more about the sustainability of their clothing here. WYL works with some AMAZING non-profit organizations like: Jack.org, the Jed Foundation, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Project UROK, and Project 375, and the Semicolon Project. Their partnerships include design collaborations, events & fundraisers, speaking engagements, co-created campaigns, and more. At Expo Fest we intend to provide business cards of information for both FLY Charms and WYL. WYL has been so generous to send the FLY Charms team their limited edition WYLxJoeFresh Fresh Perspective shirts for Expo Fest. In addition to this, we plan to have a raffle that will take place for a few FLY Charms and a Fresh Perspective shirt. During the time at the Expo Fest booth, some FLY Charms members will be doing a WYL Snapchat takeover for followers to tune in and see what we are doing. Everyone at FLY Charms has been so grateful and appreciative of all that Wear Your Label has done for the team as well as their initiative to #EndTheStigma.

“'The tags are written by a psychologist,” Kyle MacNevin, co-founder and Chief Stigma Officer of WYL, told BuzzFeed Life. 'It’s all clinically-proven things to increase dopamine levels in your brain and feel better within a 20-minute time period. So if you’re having a bad day, you can just flip your tag over on your shirt and take that next step to take care of yourself.' Plus, the clothes themselves are designed to be as comfortable as possible to make each wearer feel as good as possible."
